Wyndham Rain Those shadowed reflections on a pane of glass, darkling before a backdrop of snow, seem to be neither here nor there, neither black nor white, and, separated by the interstitial spaces of a chain-link fence, comprise a seemingly seamless part of the mournful wintry whole. Favorite track: Part IV.

<=> *In part, this is a very good album of ambient vignettes. Yet, as a whole it is even better.
"How deeply have you looked at and into the things around you, and why is it that we can only remember parts of what we see?" Favorite track: Part II.

about

Parts was originally conceived as one complete track. With the original being a mix of two live recordings. I thought the final was perhaps a little too long and decided to break it up into four parts. Each part was then slightly remixed to produce a subtle variation of the main theme. I also switched parts 2 & 3 from the original order which provides a bit more of a mental divide between the tracks. However there still remains a steady flow from one track to the next.
As in my last three albums the music is on the quiet side of life and really does require some careful listening to appreciate. Certainly not something for the car sound system or your mp3 with earbuds. Good head phones and a quiet space is a must.

The bonus track is a stand alone that has more in common with the Continuum series then with Parts, but there are concepts, structures, similarities and philosophical connections linking all of my last albums.
Thanks for listening and I hope you enjoy the music.
